Quite often we tend to connect religious music with great choral or orchestral works, like cantatas or oratorios. This album is so different - it is more like a silent prayer, so meditative and intimate. Beautiful music from the Polish composer Bartłomiej Marusik takes us on a peaceful yet emotional journey through light and shade. World premiere recording sounds excellent in the brilliant interpretation of the Dafô string quartet and Łukasz Mazanek on the double bass. A must have for all those who seek inner peace and exquisite new music for strings.

The CD comes in a neat digipack, designed by Katarzyna Fiebieger. 12 pages booklet in English and Polish.

A word from the Author

It has already been many  years since I realised that throughout my life I have been following the path chosen not by me but rather by Him, as He is the path and the life. I have quite willingly identified my own free will with His will and I trust that – as the psalmist says – „He guides me along the right paths”. At times those paths led through dark valleys, but even then they led me to a union with myself, family happiness, and harmony in my own world. Therefore I remain boundlessly grateful to Him for this and this is where my moral imperative of expressing my gratitude stems from. The thoroughly personal character of my gratitude makes it barely “molecular”, as I am merely a molecule in His creation and in the wheel of events known only to Him.
I hereby address The Great Composer and therefore I adorn my speech with music. Every composition included in this album, every phrase and every sound constitutes the most heartfelt expression of gratitude, and, since genuine candour equals simplicity, virtuosity and avant-garde solutions have no place here. He shall comprehend it best and understanding the intention shall forgive imperfections
